What can I put in my bag?
Garden green waste, soil, lawn clippings, flax YES, cabbage tree leaves YES, vines & climbers YES, Kikuyu Grass YES NO timber, plastic, animal feces/excrument or other foreign objects. If your bag contains any of the items listed that we have said NO to there will very likely be an extra charge for the sorting and disposal of these item or the bag contents may be returned to your property
How much can I put in my bag?
You can fill your bag up as much as you like up to a maximum of 150kg. PLEASE NOTE If you are going to be using your bag solely for soil or compacted lawn clippings then you will only be able to half-fill it as this is approximately 150kg.
What if I have more Green waste than what will fit in my bag?
Booking a collection will have your bag emptied and an empty bag left within 72 hrs *, so we suggest you book your collection as soon as you need your bag emptied. If you are a high user or have a big job on you may request more than 1 bag. The maximum 4-month time frame between empties still applies to all bags. We also offer a subscription service so your bag will automatically get collected at 4,6, 8 or 12 weekly intervals with automatic payment taken care off.
Will you collect any excess Greenwaste I leave beside my bag?
No, we will only collect what is in the bag as we are only collecting and handling the value of $35 per empty. This also eliminates any guesswork as to what we were to collect.
Will you take a tree stump?
Yes, provided you can fit it in or put it on top of the bag and it’s not exceeding the 150kg total weight limit. We will not take any items beside the bag as this can become confusing as to whether it was meant for collection or not.
Where should/can I put my bag for collection?
Bags need to be placed somewhere we can get easy access with for our ute which has our lifting crane on it, we are able to drag bags up to a distance of 5 meters max. We will advise if the position of your bag needs to be shifted somewhere more suitable. We recommend you leave something heavy like a rock or post we can place on top of the empty exchange bag we leave you as with the windy conditions in the area they are easily blown away while empty.
How do I make a booking and pay?
The quickest and easiest method for booking a collection and paying is online via our website. You may also book and pay at the Garden Centre. We discourage leaving payment with the bag as it could be 3 days before we get to you, we take no responsibility for any cash left with the bag. Our staff do not carry change so you will need to have the correct amount
How long does it take for you to pick up and empty my bag?
Once you have booked a collection and arranged paymen,t we will collect your full bag within 72hrs, this excludes public holidays
How often do I need to have my bag emptied?
We only require you to have your bag emptied within 4 months of receiving it. This ensures we don't have bags sitting around that are not being used, and it also stops them from becoming a solid compost lump which will likely make them overweight and cause deterioration of the bag.
Can I use a woolsack as my Garden Bag?
No , we will only collect bags that are provided by us. These are the 400ltr easy lift black bags that have lifting handles attached for our crane to attach to. If you do have Greenwaste already in a woolsack but wish to start using our service, we can collect your current woolsack provided we have access to it , it is in a liftable condition, weight is no more than 150KG. The cost for this is $35. Please note you are unliekly to receive your woolsack back but we will leave you one of our empty black bags to continue with should you wish to.
What do you do with my Garden Waste?
We compost the garden waste and use it for produce-vegetable growing onsite at the Garden Centre.
What towns do you operate your Garden Bag service?
Our bag service is available in Waihi, Waihi Beach, Bowentown, and Athenree.
Can I pre-pay for a collection?
No, We will not accept any payments before your bag is ready for collection, this is to stop any confusion as to who has paid or not. Just simply arrange payment online or in-store when your bag is full and ready for collection.
What if I only want a bag once in a while and not continuously?
This is fine and you can submit a new customer form each time you would like an empty bag dropped off or you can collect it from the Garden Centre, Please note we only want payment when your bag is filled and ready to be collected and will not take prepayments to avoid confusion.
What if I lose the bag you give me
All bags left on customer properties as requested then become the responsibility of the customer. Any missing bags will be invoiced at $30 and paid for by the customer.
Acceptance of Conditions
By requesting/using our Garden Bag Service, you are agreeing to all of the terms and conditions above. We reserve the right to discontinue this service at any given time if we feel any of the terms listed above have been breached
